The Green Bay Packers and the Baltimore Ravens had joint practices this week, and just like any other workout between two teams, it was as competitive as it was combative at times. Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander had one such moment with Baltimore tight end Charle Kolar last Thursday.
Via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
Green Bay’s unrelenting nature on defense Thursday was evident early, even after a play was dead. During the first team period of practice, cornerback Jaire Alexander trailed tight end Charlie Kolar on a modest completion up the right side of the field. Kolar went out of bounds and that’s when Alexander punched the ball out. The Packers’ cornerback picked it up and, on his way back inbounds, chirped at Kolar to hold onto the ball well after the play, too.
Jaire Alexander looking to return to Pro Bowl form
Alexander earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2023 when he recorded five interceptions and 14 passes defended through 16 games but he was not able to sustain that form in 2024, primarily because of injuries, He was only able to play in seven games and finished that campaign with zero interceptions ajd ust just passes defended. This time around, it looks like Alexander is healthy again ready to contribute for Green Bay’s defense that was 13th last season with 218.3 passing yards allowed per game.
Packers prepare for 2024 NFL preseason finale against the Ravens
The Packers’ preseason will culminate this Saturday when they go up against the Ravens at Lambeau Field. That will also be Green Bay’s first and only preseason home game this year, which comes on the heels of the Packers’embarrassing 27-2 loss on the road at the hands of the Denver Broncos. Before that, the Packers took down the Cleveland Browns in Ohio, 23-10.
