The Green Bay Packers seem to have made a decision on the future of two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander. After a tumultuous four year stretch that saw the two-time Second Team All-Pro play just half of his team’s games, news broke that the Packers are actively shopping him on the NFL trade market.
This news, which was first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, came a day after Green Bay general manager would not commit to Alexander’s return to the team in 2025.

“We’ll see, we’re working through that. We’ll work through that as we go along,” he said.
“We have to get him out there more. “There’s a lot of frustration on his part, he wants to be out there badly. Not being able to be out there at his best is frustrating to him. And obviously, we’re better with him, but we’ll see.”
Obviously, everyone is now seeing that a divorce between Alexander and the Packers is imminent.
The Green Bay Packers Could Trade Jaire Alexander to the Jacksonville Jaguars

Many Packers fans believe that Green Bay should be able to fetch a high draft pick for Alexander. After all, he is a two-time Pro Bowler and one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
However, the fact of the matter is that he has played in 14 of 34 possible games over the last two years, and 34 of 68 over the previous four. In other words, fans should temper their expectations regarding what the Packers might be able to get in return.
It may be that no NFL team wants to part with any draft capital at all for a player that has not been able to stay on the field.
That being said, there is one team that is in need of defensive talent and has some extra late-round draft picks: the Jacksonville Jaguars.
What is more, former Packers linebackers coach Anthony Campanile is the new defensive coordinator in Jacksonville. As fans may recall, he hired one of Green Bay’s defensive analysts, Anthony Perkins, as his secondary coach.
In other words, the Jaguars have defensive coaches who know Alexander and ten picks to work with in the 2025 NFL Draft. They might be willing to part with one of their two sixth round picks, or at least make it a conditional pick, in a trade for a player who, when healthy, is one of the best at his position.
Ironically, it was a game against Jacksonville in which Alexander hurt his knee and, effectively, ended his tenure in Green Bay.
