The Green Bay Packers will need to make a decision about cornerback Jaire Alexander sooner rather than later. He is one of the players that is currently on the trade block for Green Bay.

His health has betrayed him over the last couple of seasons. It will be interesting to see if Alexander will be with the Packers for the 2025 NFL season or not. It would come as a major surprise if Green Bay kept him for the 2025 NFL season.
Green Bay Packers Insider Reveals Update On Jaire Alexander

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported a major update on the star cornerback on Tuesday. Silverstein said,
“The Green Bay Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent.”
Silverstein also added,
“A source said the Packers appeared close to making a deal at the start of free agency, but the combination of the trade compensation and Alexander’s unwillingness to cut his salary to fit the other team’s salary cap have made it difficult to close a deal. There has been additional interest since the combine, but teams appear willing to wait until the Packers decide they are going to cut Alexander.
The difficult part for the Packers in trying to trade Alexander is that they must find a team willing to accept his $17.5 million salary – and similar salary-cap number – or get Alexander to negotiate a salary cut.”
If they can not find a trade partner, the odds of them keeping him for the 2025 NFL season will be large. One reason why they may not be able to find a trade partner is because of his hefty contract and recent health issues.
The 28-year-old recorded 16 tackles, one fumble recovery, two interceptions, one touchdown, and seven pass deflections. It is either the Packers trade him or keep him. Green Bay will most likely not release him.
