The Green Bay Packers are most likely going to have some new faces on the roster next season at the cornerback position. Green Bay will most likely not re-sign Eric Stokes and the Packers could very well be moving on from Jaire Alexander this NFL offseason.
The Green Bay Packers will be looking for two new starting cornerbacks for next season. They may have to bring in more than two new cornerbacks because it could be a complete overhaul of the position and some fans also don’t want Keisean Nixon back next year as well.
Green Bay Packers Select Texas Longhorns Cornerback Jahdae Barron In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Mike Renner of CBS Sports created his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. The Green Bay Packers will be selecting 23rd overall in the 2025 NFL Mock Draft. With that selection, he has the Packers taking Texas Longhorns cornerback Jahdae Barron. Renner said:
“Jahdae Barron is as well-rounded a corner as you’ll see in this class. He’s physical at the catch point with hefty experience in both the slot and out wide. He also fills a pretty drastic need for the Packers at corner.”
There is no doubt that the Green Bay Packers will be drafting a cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft in the early rounds. It would be a shock if it didn’t happen. Barron this past season with the Texas Longhorns recorded 67 tackles, one sack, five interceptions, and 11 interceptions.
Jahdae Barron is 5’11” and weighs 200 lbs. He was one of the top defensive players on the Longhorns roster this past college football season.
Other Potential Moves At Cornerback
Assuming the Green Bay Packers would take Jahdae Barron or someone else in the first round, Green Bay will probably need at least three new cornerbacks on the roster next year. There is a chance they could sign a player like D.J. Reed and then also draft another cornerback or trade for somebody.
Improving the backend of the defense could very well be the number one priority for Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst this offseason. They finished with an 11-7 record this season and are one of the youngest teams in the NFL. However, they need to upgrade the cornerback position to take the next step.
