Green Bay Packers Fans Irate Over Latest Jordan Love Report On National Television

The Green Bay Packers have committed to Jordan Love for at least the 2023 season.  The decision to move on from long-time quarterback Aaron Rodgers seemed like a necessity in many ways.  Many Green Bay Packers fans were elated when the trade to the New York Jets became official just days before the 2023 NFL Draft.  However, not everyone has confidence in Jordan Love, and one reporter made it known on national television.

Green Bay Packers Fans Rip Colin Cowherd For Brutal Jordan Love Take

While talking on his show “The Herd” on Wednesday, it doesn’t sound like Colin Cowherd thinks the Packers will be very good.

“I have never sold my stock on a football team in an OTA faster than Green Bay’s right now,” Cowherd said. “Thank God Green Bay is in a division with the Chicago Bears, thank God their schedule early (this season) is littered with tomato cans.

“I looked at the Packers schedule and I came up with six wins. I think we’re going into what the Packers were in the 80’s — kind of irrelevant.”

Jordan Love, 24, is a first round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft that spent past three seasons learning from Aaron Rodgers as the backup.   After Tuesday’s OTA practice, head coach Matt LaFleur was asked about Love potentially needing to tighten up some of his throws. But that question launched LaFleur into a bit more detailed assessment of how he’s seen Love make progress throughout OTAs:

”I’ve seen some pretty good throws throughout the course of my career in this league, namely a guy like Peyton Manning. He was pretty good and his ball wasn’t always the tightest but he did a great job,” LaFleur said in his press conference. “It’s about just being accurate. Throwing on time. Making the right decisions. Putting the ball in the right spot. And so, I’ve been encouraged — especially, I would say over the course of this last week, one of the things that we’ve kind of talked about in that room is just how important — it’s really the process of playing quarterback.

“I’m less concerned about the end result right now. But I do believe that if the process is correct, he is going to be more consistent. So, within that, it’s just the footwork, the clean mechanics, keeping a base in the pocket, being able to throw at any point in time. And I think just the rhythm and the timing, that’s something we’ve really stressed. I think he’s done a good job in particular this week of making some really significant strides.”

The Green Bay Packers front office seems confident in what they have in Love.  Even fellow players like Romeo Doubs and Aaron Jones have praised Love.  When Packers fans saw Cowherd ripping the Packers once again, they responded accordingly on social media:

He’s gonna say something in about two weeks saying that the Green Bay Packers will be more successful with Love then they were with Rodgers…he’s just a troll lol

A lot of Love, Love, Love. Football is and always has been, a team sport. The Packers still have quality pieces on both offense and defense. That said, I suspect that they will ultimately go as far as their tight ends take them. Defenses are going to blitz Green Bay more this season. It’s going to take a team effort, coaching, Love, O-line, RB’s and TE’s…

6 wins is high. I say 4-13 tops.
      End the agony.
