The Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, and the New York Jets seem to be in the midst of one of the most interesting off-seasons of recent memory. With Aaron Rodgers declaring his intentions to play for the Jets in 2023, Green Bay and New York have been working on a trade package both sides can be happy with. However, it was recently reported that the Packers may be initially asking a fairly steep price in order to offload the four-time MVP quarterback.
Green Bay Packers Asking For Massive Haul For Aaron Rodgers

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Packers want the New York Jets‘ No. 13 pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft in return for Rodgers, and that’s just the starting point:
“Per multiple sources, the Packers want a first-round pick and more from the Jets for Rodgers,” Florio wrote on Thursday, March 16. “The Packers want more than a first-round pick as part of the base deal. They want protection in 2025, in the event Rodgers plays in 2024. And that’s more than the Jets believe they should surrender for a player the Packers no longer want.”
If the Packers and Jets agreed to this type of it could look like this:
Green Bay Packers receive:
- 13th overall pick in 2023 NFL Draft
- 2024 second round pick
- Starting caliber player
New York Jets receive:
- Aaron Rodgers
