The Green Bay Packers are on the verge of moving on from one of their best players in franchise history. Aaron Rodgers seems to be on the brink of being traded to the New York Jets. Many Packers fans speculated that Green Bay was ready to move on the moment their 2022-23 season ended. However, Green Bay Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst spoke out today about what the team did in order to communicate with Aaron Rodgers this off-season.
Brian Gutekunst Reveals How Much Green Bay Tried To Contact Aaron Rodgers

Gutekunst talked to reporters at the Annual League Meeting on Monday. He appeared to dispute Rodgers’ comments on not communicating clearly and wanting to shop him in the offseason. According to a video posted by Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, Gutekunst said he reached out to Rodgers to discuss where he fit with the Packers’ plans for the 2023 season. But Rodgers didn’t respond to Gutekunst in what his boss felt was a timely fashion. Gutekunst had to move on, knowing a trade was a possibility:
“Our inability to reach him or for him to respond in any way — I think at that point … I had to do my job.”

Aaron Rodgers stated in the past that he felt as though the Green Bay Packers were ready to move on from him. He mentioned multiple times that throughout the season he had the feeling the team was ready to move on to Jordan Love. When Packers fans heard Brian Gutekunst’s side of the story, they took to social media in waves:
Yeah excuse the Packers for questioning if this guy was all in or not.

Oh damn, so Aaron didn’t even pick up. Aaron made it seem like the Packers didn’t want him, but he never picked up.

Remember GM Ron Wolf, he did everything possible to bring in and keep great talent around Brett Favre and keep the Packers an elite team year after year. Now the last to clowns don’t quite get that concept and have turned this team into a rummage sale of a team.
Why would the team want to know if he was all in when he was just signed to 3yr pretty much guaranteed deal
