One of the weaknesses with the Green Bay Packers during the 2024 NFL season was there pass rush. Rashan Gary led the team with 7.5 sacks.

The Packers did not do much to make any improvements yet to the defensive line in the offseason. For now, general manager Brian Gutekunst believes in what he has on the roster on the defensive line. However, Packers fans know that they need to do more at the position. There is a chance that Green Bay will start to fix its defensive line with the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
CBS Sports Mock Draft Has the Green Bay Packers Selecting Georgia Bulldogs EDGE Rusher Mykel Williams

CBS Sports writer Cody Benjamin created his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. He has the Packers selecting Georgia Bulldogs edge rusher Mykel Williams with that selection. It would be a major surprise if Williams was still on the board by the time that Green Bay was on the clock. If he is still on the board 23rd overall, Gutekunst shouldn’t even think twice about the selection and hand in his card right away.
“They could go a number of directions here, but the Packers might not pass up such a gifted pass-rushing project if he’s still available, especially after parting ways with Preston Smith during the 2024 campaign.”
Williams is one of the best athletes in the 2025 NFL Draft class. He has been projected to go anywhere between the Top 10 and the late teens. It would be a major surprise if he was still on the board in the 20s. He is 6’5″ and weighs 265 lbs.
Williams during the 2024 season with Georgia recorded 28 tackles and 4.5 sacks. It would feel like a pipe dream if the Packers got him in the 2025 NFL Draft. The only way they can potentially draft him is if they traded up for him also.
