Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander was ruled out with a knee injury against the San Francisco 49ers. The Packers won the game easily over the 49ers, 38-10 on Sunday afternoon. With the win, Green Bay improved to 8-3 on the season and San Francisco dropped to 5-6 on the season.
It is going to be interesting to see if Alexander will play against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night because of a knee injury. The odds are that he could be out for that matchup as well. He missed a lot of games last season due to injuries and they could make an interesting business decision with him after the season.
Green Bay Packers Find Jaire Alexander Replacement In the First-Round Of the 2025 NFL Draft
The Packers need a cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft. Some people may think that Green Bay will draft a cornerback to start alongside Jaire Alexander. Thedraftnetwork.com writer Ryan Fowler has the Packers selecting cornerback Jabbar Muhammad with the 27th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Fowler said:
“One of my personal favorites in the class, Jabbar Muhammad is a flat-out alpha within the secondary that would play extremely well alongside Jaire Alexander±another elite competitor. Size is the common knock on Muhammad, but his technique, spatial awareness, and instincts on the outside showcase one of the premier corners in the 2025 class. Enjoy watching him work as Oregon pushes for a CFP title in the next couple of months.”
Fowler thinks that the Packers will keep Alexander beyond this season, but the Packers might have other plans. No matter how this is looked at, Green Bay is going to need to draft several cornerbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They will also need to keep the first-round selection because the draft is in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 2025.
Season Stats
This season with the Oregon Ducks, Jabbar Muhammad has recorded 31 total tackles this season and has the traits to be a shutdown corner in the NFL. He has not had an interception or pass deflection all season long. Muhammad would be a good fit for the Green Bay Packers’ defense if they draft him in 2025.
The Packers may have an overhaul of the cornerback position next season. Green Bay could get out of his contract after this season and if not, then he wouldn’t be a free agent until after the 2026 season. Alexander is 27 years old.
