Christmas could’ve taken a turn for the worse is the Packers suffered their first home loss of the season, but thankfully that wasn’t the case! The Packers defense had themselves a day, but the offense was rather non-existent in the second half. Baker Mayfield had one of, if not the worst game of his career, while Aaron Rodgers was rather average. This Packers team continues to win close, so how did this performance end up for your fantasy team?
NOTE: The scoring is based on PPR through NFL Fantasy. Please keep that in mind as the numbers might be slightly different from a Fantasy league you’re in!
Aaron Rodgers: 19.98 Points
The over/under on Sleeper for Rodgers was around 255.5 passing yards, which seemed like a lock. Ultimately, Rodgers only threw for just over 200 yards. His fantasy performance was saved by a three touchdown day, otherwise this could’ve been an absolute disaster. I’m sure there are plenty of teams out there who are relying on Rodgers for their fantasy playoffs, and while 20 points is an acceptable total, we expected a bit more from the potential back to back MVP.
Aaron Jones: 13.70 Points

For not finding the endzone, almost 14 points is a beautiful total! Jones continued to be a reliable pass catching back, as he finished with a total of five receptions. That’s five points right there in a PPR format, even if those five catches only resulted in 21 yards. The ground game was working, as Jones had 66 total rushing yards, his best since Week 6!
AJ Dillon: 8.60 Points
It seems like the Packers have backed off a little bit and are relying more on Aaron Jones once again. AJ Dillon is giving this team some valuable yards and carries, but his fantasy performance has plummeted. There’s nothing wrong with 8.60 points from an RB2, but similar to Rodgers performance this week, we just expect a bit more from Dillon knowing what he’s capable of. Dillon had three receptions himself, so right there the running backs accounted for eight of Rodgers twenty-four completions. AJ Dillon is a risky RB2 start if you find yourself in the championship game, I’d look for better options.
Davante Adams: 33.40 Points

You know who’s not a risky start? Davante Adams! Adams put on another masterful performance, finishing with over thirty fantasy points. This’ll win you a championship right here. Adams finished with ten receptions but could’ve even had more without those few drops at the end. His two-touchdown performance is just a thing of beauty, and it’s another 100+ yard receiving day for Adams.
Allen Lazard: 13.80 Points
With MVS out due to COVID, Allen Lazard stepped up big time. There was a missed opportunity in the endzone, but Rodgers still trusted this man and he finished with two receptions for forty-five yards and a TD. Lazard also had a thirteen-yard carry, so it’s nice to see them switch things up. I certainly would’ve expected more than two receptions for Lazard with MVS out, however it goes to show how sluggish the offense was in the second half. Either way, you can’t complain about nearly fifteen points from a WR2.
Josiah Deguara: 2.50 Points
Deguara and Lewis both hauled in two catches, but neither really did much with them. The game saw receptions from two receivers, two backs, and two tight ends. Talk about a balance! Deguara had a four yard catch, and one was a bubble screen for just a single yard. The tight end play is always risky for the Packers without Tonyan, but you never know when Deguara or Lewis could have themselves a big day. Obviously I’d avoid either of those options in the fantasy playoffs, but if you’re stuck with nothing else, at least you know Deguara should grab a few targets.
Packers Defense: 13.00 Points

Is it bad that I was disappointed to see the Packers defense only had thirteen fantasy points? I understand they didn’t score or anything, but to have FIVE sacks and FOUR interceptions, thirteen points just seems disrespectful! There are leagues that have different ways to score defenses, and in another one I’m in I saw they had 17.00 points. They only allowed 22 points as well, so I’m not sure why the total is so low! Must’ve been because of all the Browns rushing yards…
Mason Crosby: 6.00 Points
Crosby is looking so much more comfortable and relaxed when making his kicks, they seem effortless now. He’s not overthinking things, he’s over his slump, and we can hope this stays true into the playoffs. We all know Rodgers isn’t the biggest fan of kicking field goals anyways, so who knows when Crosby will be needed in the postseason.
Packers Only Fantasy Team: 113.18 Points
This was wild, because as I mentioned in Deguara’s part, Rodgers threw the ball to two receivers, two backs, and two tight ends. If you started a WR other than Adams or Lazard, you would’ve ended with zero. Just for fun, I added Lewis in here as the flex position. This lineup included Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Marcedes Lewis (flex), Josiah Deguara, Packers D, and Mason Crosby. Some leagues don’t even allow you to flex a tight end, but we just needed those extra two points in the total to make it look better!
