Coming off the bye week, the Packers rebounded well in terms of fantasy output! Aaron Rodgers is having the time of his life, bad toe and all. AJ Dillon continues to impress, and Allen Lazard really stepped up here. The Packers lost Randall Cobb for a few weeks, but they still have the necessary weapons to win out. Let’s take a look at the fantasy performances from Week 14!
NOTE: The scoring is based on PPR through NFL Fantasy. Please keep that in mind as the numbers might be slightly different from a Fantasy league you’re in!
Aaron Rodgers: 29.64 Points
Was this Aaron Rodgers best week of the season? It might have been! No rushing yards from Aaron this week, but he didn’t need them as he threw for over 300 yards which resulted in four touchdowns. These are the type of performances that you’re going to need out of your fantasy quarterback in the playoffs. We all know that Aaron Rodger still owns the Bears, and this just proves that. His toe is still something to watch out for, but it sure hasn’t affected him these past few weeks.
Aaron Jones: 21.50 Points
I know people were starting to lose hope in Aaron Jones for fantasy, but this week he let AJ Dillon do all the work and then would come in and score. That’s exactly what you want from your fantasy running backs! Some of them rely on touchdowns, which Jones usually doesn’t due to his skills in the passing game. One of his three receptions resulted in a touchdown, so with 65 total yards (through the air and on the ground) Jones finished with over 20 fantasy points.
AJ Dillon: 7.10 Points
Dillon is a monster, everyone knows this. He is only a monster in fantasy when he scores, which he didn’t have the chance to do this week. As I just mentioned, AJ Dillon did the heavy lifting, he earned every yard he got, but then Aaron Jones got the goaline carry. AJ Dillon is always going to be fantasy relevant, but he might not win you the fantasy playoffs.
Davante Adams: 34.10 Points
What else is there to say about this man that hasn’t already been said? He has the IQ of a quarterback, and if you put the entire 11 players on the Bears defense on him they still wouldn’t be able to stop him. The Packers scheme certain plays for Adams, but the rest are just him getting a step ahead and being the best receiver in the league. No one can deny his numbers, his target share, none of it! Davante Adams is a guy you don’t want to be facing in the fantasy playoffs.
Allen Lazard: 20.90 Points
How about it! Allen Lazard and Davante Adams combine for over 50 fantasy points, unreal! This just goes to show how great of a week Aaron Rodgers had, and Lazard really stepped up with Cobb out. We’ve been waiting for a big time Allen Lazard performance, and this was just that. Lazard completely beat MVS in every category imaginable, so I’m sorry if you started MVS over him.
Marcedes Lewis: 9.10 Points
Almost ten points from the big man! This was Lewis’s best game of the season, no doubt about it. Deguara is usually the one who I’d put in this category, but I actually started Lewis in my DFS lineup for the weekend and it worked out bigtime! I knew it was a risk, but was happy to get him at a low cost and hoped for at least a few points. Lewis had four receptions on the night and racked up over fifty yards. Exceptional!
Packers Defense: 13.00 Points
This is actually a phenomenal fantasy score for giving up as many points as the Packers did. This game screamed shootout after the first half, but things toned down and Fields is still a rookie, so his mistakes were guaranteed. I’m sure some expected from a bit more points out of the defense this week, but they had a fumble recovery and two touchdowns, one of which resulting in a TD.
Mason Crosby: 9.00 Points
Sorry Crosby, no real necessity for you in that win! Other than the extra points, Crosby had a 20 yard field goal I believe, which is relatively nothing. The Packers scored their points, which helped Crosby get to nearly 10 fantasy points after only netting one field goal. I’d probably stay away from Crosby in the fantasy playoffs just in-case he goes on a bad streak, but it depends on your options and who’s out there.
Packers Only Fantasy Team: 149.34 Points
This lineup would’ve seen you start Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, MVS (flex), Marcedes Lewis, the Packers D, and Mason Crosby. This might be my new strategy for next year! When this team is hot, THEY’RE HOT! Nothing else to say about it, what a win over the Bears it was.
