The Green Bay Packers fell just three points shy of reaching the NFC Championship game in 2023. They will look to build on that and go even further in 2024. As one of the youngest and more exciting teams in the league, fans can’t wait for the season to start.
However, getting to week one as healthy as possible remains a top priority. That goal has already taken a hit.
The Green Bay Packers Suffer Broken Hand At Practice

Our very own Jordan Sigler highlighted the news earlier today:
LaFleur also explained why Van Ness missed. According to Matt Schneidman with The Athletic, LaFleur said Van Ness broke the tip of his thumb:
“[Van Ness] broke his thumb a little bit. Just the tip,” LaFleur said.
LaFleur didn’t specify when the Packers expect Van Ness to return. One would assume it shouldn’t affect much of his offseason, and certainly not training camp. Van Ness might have to wrap up his affected tip until it heals, but he should be able to play football in Week 1 of the regular season.
Still, the tip of a thumb is an unfortunate place to have a bone break. That area of the hand makes a lot of contact with other objects. Hopefully, Van Ness won’t touch too many surfaces with his tip before he fully heals.
