The Green Bay Packers lost to the Minnesota Vikings 31-29 on Sunday afternoon. Green Bay dropped to 2-2 on the season and Minnesota improved to 4-0 on the season.
One of the things that occurred in the game on Sunday for the Packers was Christian Watson injured his ankle in the first half against the Vikings. It happened when Jordan Love threw a pass intended for him and it was intercepted. Watson was carted off the field and he did not return to the game.
Green Bay Packers Fans React To Christian Watson Injury
Watson was no stranger to missing games last season because of a hamstring injury. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Monday morning that the star wide receiver could land on injured reserve because of a high-ankle sprain, He did not have a fracture. This is what the Packers fans had to say about the receiver getting injured once again:

#GoPackGo
Injuries continue to plague Christian Watson.
This time it’s a high ankle sprain.
Actually better news than expected when it happened.
He’s had a decent start to 2024 with great blocking.
Plus he’s made a few decent catches for the Packers.
Hopefully he’s back soon! https://t.co/0tfg0G1IBP— Packers4Life (@omergaudetjr) September 30, 2024
#IDontWantToOverreactBUT Christian Watson is made of glass…

Is it a loss for the “symmetrical legs” theory that Christian Watson suffered a high-ankle sprain or a win that he avoided an ankle fracture? https://t.co/ASTp4tGpBC

a trip to injured reserve for christian watson has to be so frustrating. he did everything right to keep himself on the field, and now an unpreventable football injury is gonna force him to miss another chunk of games for the third year in a row. just disappointing

Watson did not have a catch on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Christian Watson has only caught five passes for 80 yards receiving and one touchdown, along with averaging 16.0 yards per catch this season.
Dontayvion Wicks Will Fill In For Christian Watson
With Watson being sidelined, Dontayvion Wicks will have to step up in his absence. Despite the massive drops on Sunday, Wicks had a good stat line with five receptions for 78 yards receiving and two touchdowns, along with averaging 15.6 yards per catch. He was also targeted 13 times by quarterback Jordan Love.
Love and Wicks had very good chemistry with each other a season ago. Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs will be the receiving core of the Packers in the meantime with Watson sidelined. If Wicks plays well, it will be very hard for Watson to get his spot back.
