Head coach Matt LaFleur made it known the Green Bay Packers need to acquire a veteran wide receiver this offseason. Allen Robinson, who was a potential target for the Packers this offseason, is being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers Tuesday. The Packers must cross another player’s name off their list with a week to go before the NFL draft. Green Bay Packers fans reacted to the Allen Robinson trade news on social media not long after the news broke of the Los Angeles Rams/Steelers trade.
The Packers are weak on depth at wide receiver. Their projected starters are all heading into their second season in the NFL. 2022 starting tight ends Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis are not on the team. The Packers didn’t have many options in a weak wide receiver free agency to grab a veteran, and the market has shrunk rapidly in the past week.
