The Green Bay Packers are having a rather eventful offseason. Aaron Rodgers is [probably] getting traded to the New York Jets. Robert Tonyan and Dean Lowry have signed with division rivals (Tonyan to the Bears and Lowry to the Vikings). Allen Lazard signed with the Jets ahead of the [probable] Rodgers trade. One of their unrestricted free agents, Adrian Amos, may also be leaving soon. According to multiple reports, Amos is visiting with the Baltimore Ravens today. He has an offer on the table from Green Bay, but is exploring other options.

Green Bay Packers Fans Would Miss Adrian Amos

There is no way of getting around it: Amos had a bad year in 2022. Despite a career high 102 total tackles, Amos was constantly beaten in coverage. Opposing quarterbacks had a 107.7 passer rating while targeting him and he allowed a career worst 70.0% completion rate.
That being said, Amos is a dynamic leader and never missed a game during his four seasons with the Packers. In 71 out of 71 possible games played, Amos never played fewer than 95% of defensive plays. This included 100% of the defense’s snaps in 2019. A fan-favorite, Packers fans took to social media to express their views on the possibility of Amos leaving:
If the Packers were going to retain Adrian Amos their realistic deadline to do so passed when his contract voided back in February and accelerated nearly $8M of dead cap into the 2023 season.
At this point the decision was made. Visiting other teams is the inevitable next step.

since signing with the packers in the spring of 2019, adrian amos has played in all 71 of a possible 71 regular and post-season games — or 4,330 defensive snaps. they’d be losing more production in the secondary than they’ll be able to immediately account for if amos walks.

We've been talking about safety as a weakness for the #Packers, and that was WITH Adrian Amos…
If he signs with the Ravens, safety will immediately become the biggest need on this roster by a fair amount. https://t.co/vqpJHGW8oe

Amos was one hell of a signing from Gutey. Big leader on that defense https://t.co/im7LIWHrWm

Potentially losing guys like this, is one of the worst parts of windows closing. "Packer People" personified, leadership…but had a down year. You don't want to lose the presence, but also realize the need to move on & upgrade the on the field aspect. Much love for Smash. https://t.co/AT3ZKJ8bf1

Obviously, Amos’ contributions to the Packers have not gone unnoticed. Despite a down season in 2022, he is still held in high regard by many fans.
It should be noted, however, that his visit to Baltimore does not necessarily mean that he is automatically gone. He simply may be looking to see what else is out there. Justin Hollins just re-signed with the Packers after previously meeting with the New York Giants. Then again, Baltimore is, literally, home for Amos. Perhaps his last NFL contract will bring him close to where he grew up.
Time will tell.
