The Green Bay Packers have had their fair share of “fan favorite” players over the year. Immediately names like Bart Starr, Reggie White, Charles Woodson, Jordy Nelson, and (yes even with the recent trade news) Aaron Rodgers. However, there have been very few players in the history of the NFL that have captured the hearts of fans like one former Packers did in such a short amount of time. The legends previously mentioned became fan favorites after years of playing incredible football as well as establishing a relationship with fans off the field. However, Kurt Benkert established that kind of connection with fans in just one season in Green Bay. Now, he has a new team.

According to Aaliyan Mohammed:
Benkert was linked to the XFL earlier in the offseason, but at the time he said it may not be the right decision for him. Benkert has a large social media following and creates a variety of content on his social channels. He will be making his return to football for the Brahmas.
The San Antonio Brahmas currently have three quarterbacks on their roster. The starting quarterback is former Badger Jack Coan. He was at the University of Wisconsin for four years before transferring to Notre Dame. Benkert finds himself behind Coan on the depth chart.
The San Antonio Brahmas are 1-4 and could be looking to shake things up at quarterback. They have five games left in the regular season and there is a chance Benkert could see some time on the field.
When Green Bay Packers fans heard this news, they were extremely excited for the former Packer:
