The Green Bay Packers will be hosting its 23rd annual Family Night at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Saturday night. It is going to be a fun night for the fans and also the players. With a couple of weeks of camp under the Packers’ belt, the picture is getting more clear in who the starters will be for the 2024 season.
Preseason games will be right around the corner, but the Green Bay Packers will not be practicing on Friday because Family Night is on Saturday. There have been some standouts up to this point and there have been some disappointments at this point.
Green Bay Packers Potential Starting Offense For Family Night
Adam Stenavich is the Green Bay Packers offense coordinator this season. A lot of fans are looking forward to seeing the potential of this offense this season. Head coach Matt LaFleur is responsible for quarterback Jordan Love’s recent success. Love will be the starting quarterback.
Josh Jacobs will be the starting running back for this weekend, but if he can not participate in practice because of a groin injury, A.J. Dillon or Marshawn Lloyd will take his place. Lloyd had a tremendous practice on Thursday and has also missed time due to a hip injury.
Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs will be the starting wide receivers, with Dontayvion Wicks potentially seeing time as well. Luke Musgrave will be the starting tight end. The projected starting offensive line for Green Bay will be Rasheed Walker at left tackle, Elgton Jenkins at left guard, Josh Myers at center, rookie Jordan Morgan at right guard, and Zach Tom at right tackle. A lot of fans will want to see how the offensive line does.
Starting Defense
Green Bay switched from a 3-4 defense under Joe Barry to a 4-3 defense under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. The Packers starting defensive line will be Preston Smith and Rashan Gary at defensive end, with Lukas Van Ness in the mix. TJ Slaton and Kenny Clark will be the starting defensive tackles, along with Karl Brooks being in the rotation.
Quay Walker, Eric Wilson, and Isaiah McDuffie are projected to be the starting linebackers, with rookie Edgerrin Cooper dealing with an injury. The secondary will be different this season. Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes will be the starting cornerbacks and rookie Javon Bullard and Xavier McKinney will be the starting safeties.
Special Teams
Special teams are going to be an interesting battle for the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. Anders Carlson for now is the kicker, but Greg Joseph can steal his job after the reports of what happened in camp on Thursday. Daniel Whelan will be the punter and Matt Orzech will be the long snapper.
