Green Bay is looking to make its football team during the 2025 NFL Draft. It almost feels inevitable that general manager Brian Gutekunst will draft a defensive player in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Cornerback is one of the biggest needs on the Packers roster.
Green Bay Packers Draft Familiar Face In Latest NFL Mock Draft

NFL.com writer Mike Band created his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. There have been many mock drafts that have had Green Bay selecting a cornerback. In Band’s latest mock draft, he has Green Bay taking a familiar name that has been mentioned in mock drafts for them and that is Texas Longhorns cornerback Jahdae Barron.
With a lot of analysts linking the Packers to Barron, it almost feels inevitable that Green Bay will draft him if he is still on the board. However, the Packers may need to trade up for him if they think that he might be gone by the time Green Bay is on the clock. Band said,
“GM Brian Gutekunst has a clear track record of targeting elite defensive athletes early in the draft, and Barron fits that profile. A first-team All-American at Texas, Barron earned an overall draft score from Next Gen Stats’ draft model of 89 — he was one of only five prospects to receive a grade that high.”
Barron would no doubt be the top cornerback on the Packers roster in 2025. If they do draft a cornerback, there is a good chance that they are not bringing back cornerback Jaire Alexander in 2025.
Barron is 5’11” and weighs 200 lbs. He recorded 67 tackles, one sack, five interceptions, and 11 pass deflections. The former Texas Longhorns cornerback will be one of the top cornerbacks taken in the 2025 NFL Draft. Green Bay would love to draft him, and he could be a day one starter in the NFL also.
