The Green Bay Packers are back to the drawing board after their Week Four matchup. The Detroit Lions came into Lambeau Field and did just about anything they wanted to. The Packers’ offense and defense struggled throughout the first half which lead to a 27-3 halftime lead for the Lions.
The Packers’ secondary was exposed by Jared Goff and the explosive Lions offense. Goff finished with 210 passing yards and a score, however, it seemed like the Lions got whatever they wanted through the air when they needed it. The Lions converted nearly 50% of the third downs they faced and were 2/2 on fourth down. The Packers did receive some good news today.
Matt LaFleur Hopeful That Eric Stokes Can Return Off The PUP List For The Green Bay Packers
Per Matt Schniedman of The Athletic:
Matt LaFleur on Eric Stokes’ chances to return to practice next week (he’s missed the required four games while on PUP): “We’re hopeful, but we’ll see.”
Currently, cornerbacks are facing a lot of injury concerns. Jaire Alexander is the team’s number-one cornerback, but he missed the Detroit game due to a surprsing back injury. When asked if LaFleur thought it would be a long-term injury, he responded, “I sure as heck hope not. We’ll see.” He later added, “We’re not overly concerned long-term.”
Eric Stokes, who hasn’t practiced since sustaining a season-ending ankle injury in 2022, is also hopeful to be able to practice this week, LaFleur also said. Stokes is currently on the physically unable to perform list. Stokes will have a 20-day window to become a member of the 53-man roster once he practices.
