Another position that the Green Bay Packers will have to potentially look at this offseason is the wide receiver position. Although there is talent at the position, Green Bay has not found a true number-one wide receiver yet.
This is the second straight season that a Packers wide receiver did not go over 1,000 yards receiving. It will be interesting to see how the Green Bay Packers will find a true number-one wide receiver for quarterback Jordan Love this offseason.
Pro Football Focus Thinks That Stanford Cardinal Wide Receiver Elic Ayomanor Could Be a Potential Target For the Green Bay Packers In the 2025 NFL Draft
Pro Football Focus writer Gordon McGuinness wrote about which player each team should target on day one or day two of the 2025 NFL Draft. For the Green Bay Packers, he thinks they should target Stanford Cardinal wide receiver Elic Ayomanor. McGuinness said:
“The Packers have one of the deeper receiving rooms in the NFL but are likely to still chase a player who can develop into a true No. 1 wide receiver this offseason. Ayomanor has enjoyed two solid seasons at Stanford, earning PFF receiving grades above 70.0 in both years.”
Ayomanor is more projected to be a second-round pick rather than a first-round pick. The Green Bay Packers will most likely draft a cornerback or a defensive lineman in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
This past season with the Stanford Cardinal, Elic Ayomanor caught 63 passes for 831 yards receiving and six touchdowns, along with averaging 13.2 yards per reception. He is 6’2″ and weighs 210 lbs.
Could Sign Other Wide Receivers In Free Agency
There is a chance that the Green Bay Packers could be signing Tee Higgins in free agency to replace Christian Watson next season. Higgins would be an ideal free agent signing for the Packers.
There is also a chance that the Packers could draft a wide receiver like Elic Ayomanor in the second round or another wide receiver. The Green Bay Packers love drafting wide receivers in the second round. Some noticeable names that the Packers have drafted in the second round in the past are Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, and Jayden Reed.
