The Green Bay Packers are doing their homework this off-season no matter the position. The 2023 off-season figures to be a massive one for the organization. The pending Aaron Rodgers trade is certainly at the forefront of everyone’s mind, however, many other moves have taken place that could define the Packers’ 2023 season. Some of those moves include Allen Lazard signing with the New York Jets, Robert Tonyan signing with the Chicago Bears, and Dean Lowry signing with the Minnesota Vikings. One position that seems to have no questions regarding it is the quarterback. There is no question that Jordan Love will be their guy in 2023, however, that didn’t stop the Packers from meeting with a top quarterback.
Green Bay Packers Meeting With QB Hendon Hooker

According to ESPN Analyst and Draft Scout Matt Miller:
Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker met with the New Orleans Saints today and has the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers to close out this week. His schedule is packed pre draft with visits. Does he go first round? Starting to think so.
Now it is HIGHLY unlike the Green Bay Packers draft a quarterback anywhere near the first round this year so it is fairly interesting to see them host such a high profile QB. According to his NFL Draft Prospects Profile:
Hooker’s age and ACL tear will be starting points for many draft conversations, but the most important question to be answered is whether he can thrive outside of the Tennessee offense. Hooker was frequently a half-field reader, which means he could lean on spacing, speed and/or route combinations to make life easier.
He’s more accurate outside the numbers than between the hashes and his deep ball placement was much more uneven than expected. However, Hooker plays with excellent poise and footwork as a pocket passer. He will make quarterback coaches and play-callers happy with his adherence to keeping plays on schedule. He’s still showing signs of improvement and growth at the position, and his ability to hurt teams with his legs creates opportunities to help his offense outside of what he does in the pocket.
His recovery from the ACL tear will require monitoring, but he has the talent to become a starter in a timing-based, spread offense.
Hendon Hooker had monster seasons in 2021 and 2022. In total, he threw for 6,080 yards, 58 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. Over those same two years he also ran for 1,050 yards and 10 touchdowns. He will will certainly be a dual threat in the NFL, something many teams are starting to adapt in their offenses.
