The Green Bay Packers defeated the Los Angeles Rams 20-3 on Sunday afternoon at home, and Packers rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks saw more action. He caught four passes for 49 yards receiving and zero touchdowns. Wicks also averaged 12.2 yards per reception.
The only player on the Packers that had more receiving yards in the game than Wicks was Luke Musgrave, with three receptions for 51 yards receiving and one touchdown. He averaged 17 yards per reception.
On the season, Wicks has caught 14 passes for 189 yards receiving and one touchdown. He is averaging 13.5 yards per reception. For the rest of the season, Wicks needs to see more targets and receptions. He was a fifth-round selection out of Virginia, and Wicks has shown potential throughout the season.
He played tremendous on Sunday except for this one fumble when diving for a first down in the first half. His 49 yards receiving was a season-high, and he will only get better from here. With Christian Watson leaving the game with several injuries, it is very possible that Wicks is going to get more chances, whether he is injured or not.

Are Dontayvion Wicks and Jayden Reed the future of the #Packers receiving corps? pic.twitter.com/u51HhJ5GYf

In that tweet, it is interesting that there was a question asked: are Jayden Reed and Wicks the future of the Packers’ receiving corps? Well, both of them will be, and Romeo Doubs will be as well. Christian Watson could be the odd man out in the long run, considering the fact he has struggled this season and has been injured.
Wicks should see more snaps again when the Packers go on the road in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has been getting open often for them this season.
