The Detroit Lions have had an interesting draft. Many fans were surprised by their first-round choices. The Lions traded back in the first round and drafted running back Jahmyr Gibbs with 12 overall pick. The Lions then added linebacker Jack Campbell a few spots later with the 18th pick. The Lions also have added a backup quarterback with Hendon Hooker and tight end Sam LaPorta.

Those are somewhat confusing picks for a roster that should be competing for a playoff run next season. The Lions already had depth at running back before the draft. They signed David Montgomery in free agency, and D’Andre Swift was on the roster. The Lions wound up trading Swift to the Philadelphia Eagles Saturday.
