The Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos are both looking to improve on their 2023 campaign. The Broncos finished 8-9 on the year but had a strong stretch during the middle of the season that, temporarily, put them in playoff conversations.
The Packers went 7-3 in their final 10 games of the season which included a massive win over the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs.
Now reports are surfacing that the two teams could be in business before the 2024 season kicks off.
The Green Bay Packers And Denver Broncos Could Be In Business Prior To The Start Of The 2024 Season
John Buhler of FanSided highlighted how these two teams could be trade partners:
It could go either way for the Green Bay Packers this season, honestly. I might be quite bullish on them, as I said they would go something like 12-5 once I unpacked their 17-game regular-season schedule.
Of course, this is all contingent on them being able to get the most out of Jordan Love in his second full season as the starting quarterback. He is promising, but he is about to go get the bag.
Love is on the precipice of cashing in on some big-time money. He may not completely reset the quarterbacking market, but he will be making closer to $40 million annually in about a year’s time.
Of course, he needs to continue to play well to guarantee that massive bump in salary. Therefore, it serves the Broncos to just go for it by surrounding Love with the best talent possible on offense.
One player who could help them out is Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton. Here is what a blockbuster trade could look like to get this Pro Bowler out of SMU to a better overall situation soon.
Green Bay Packers Receive:
- WR Courtland Sutton
Denver Broncos Receive:
- 2025 Second-Round Pick
- 2025 Fifth-Round Pick
- 2026 Third-Round Pick
- 2026 Seventh-Round Pick
Will The Packers Be Interested In Adding A 28-Year-Old Wide Receiver?
Courtland Sutton, the veteran wide receiver for the Denver Broncos, has resisted attending the team’s off-season program in pursuit of a new contract. After a career-high 10-touchdown season, Sutton wants more guaranteed money.
Since joining the team in 2018, he has handled a revolving door of head coaches, offensive coordinators, and quarterbacks, but has always maintained his ability to be a big-play wide receiver.
As of now, Sutton has two years remaining on his current contract, but he does not have any guaranteed money on the books. Despite trade interest from other teams, the Broncos have kept hold of him and have not entertained offers from other teams.
What’s next for them? The Broncos will either fork over a larger contract or they will get what they can for him. If the Broncos don’t see their franchise in a “win now” mode, getting draft capital for the future would be beneficial.
