The Green Bay Packers have a coaching vacancy
The Green Bay Packers will be looking to fill a void with their defensive coaching staff. According to multiple reports, defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator Jerry Gray has taken another coaching in the NFC. Gray was a hot name in the defensive coaching ranks this offseason.
According to Mike Garafolo with the NFL Network, Gray will join the Atlanta Falcons staff. He is expected to be named the title “assistant head coach/defense.” The Falcons named Ryan Nielsen as their defensive coordinator last week.

Gray was getting inquiries from other teams in the NFL recently. The Chicago Bears asked permission from the Packers to interview the Gray for a job opening on their defense. Gray appeared to be looking for a promotion this offseason. The Packers, who decided to keep on defensive coordinator Joe Barry for next season, did not offer a promotion to Gray. The Packers will now need to search for their next defensive backs coach.
