The Green Bay Packers have been long rumored to get into free agency this off-season. Both Matt LaFleur and Brian Gutekunst have mentioned the team is interested in bringing in a veteran or two. Most notably, they were referencing the wide receiver position. Recently, a premier wide receiver name has entered free agency who has long been rumored to be an interest for the Green Bay Packers. DeAndre Hopkins Changes Who Will Represent Him In Free Agency
Last week, longtime star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins suddenly hit the free agent market when he was released by the Arizona Cardinals. And as he heads into free agency, he’s making a pretty big change to help him find a new team.
DeAndre Hopkins has long represented himself without an agent, but according to a report from league insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Hopkins will no longer be representing himself and has signed a sports agent to help him in the free agency process.
“Former #AZCardinals star WR DeAndre Hopkins has hired agent Kelton Crenshaw of @KlutchSports to represent him in free agency, source says. Hopkins had previously represented himself before signing with Crenshaw, who also reps Chase Young, Kayvon Thibodeaux and DeVonta Smith,” Rapoport said in a tweet.
It will be interesting to see where Hopkins lands. Due to being released so late in free agency, there are few teams who have the cap space to sign him to a deal that he would consider. There have been several teams rumored to be interested in the veteran wide out. At one point this off-season, the Green Bay Packers were even favored to grab the All-Pro.
