The Green Bay Packers offense will look much different in 2023. The franchise-altering Aaron Rodgers trade has captivated headlines all off-season. However, many fans are focusing now on the road ahead. That road, for now, is led by third-year quarterback Jordan Love. After sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for two full seasons, Love finally gets his chance to lead the most historic franchise in the NFL. A lot of talks have been made this off-season about the Packers adding a veteran weapon for Love and this offense. Today, a veteran weapon de-committed from his current team in a major way.
Wide Receiver DeAndre Hopkins Not Only Is A No-Show To OTAs, But Makes Controversial Comments On Podcast

According to Tyler Dragon of USA Today:
DeAndre Hopkins reaffirmed his commitment to the Arizona Cardinals organization earlier this month, but he’s giving signals that he’s open to leaving the desert.
While appearing on the “I AM ATHLETE” podcast Monday, Hopkins said he desires stability in upper management and wants to play with a quarterback who loves the game.
“What I want is stable management upstairs. I think that’s something I haven’t really had the past couple years of my career coming from Houston and then to Arizona. I’ve been through three or four GMs in my career, so a stable management. A QB who loves the game, a QB who brings everybody on board with him and pushes not just himself but everybody around him,” Hopkins explained. “And a great defense. A great defense wins championships.”
Hopkins said the Cardinals are in “good hands” with general manager Monti Ossenfort and he believes quarterback Kyler Murray loves the game. But the Cardinals haven’t been stable since the 2022 season ended. Arizona hired Ossenfort as its new general manager this offseason, while Murray is rehabilitating his knee injury and it’s unclear when he will return.
Today is was also reported that DeAndre Hopkins skipped the start of voluntary OTAs with the Arizona Cardinals. Earlier this off-season, the Green Bay Packers were the favorites to sign wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins:
As of January 20th, on DraftKings, the Packers have the best odds to land the former All-Pro. The Packers have +350 odds just ahead of the Patriots at +450. The Chiefs have the third-best odds at +500.
The Packers would have to work some serious salary cap magic to make it happen, but currently, they are the betting favorite. However, the Packers will likely wait until they figure out their quarterback situation before making any big trade calls.
In 2022 Hopkins was suspended for six games and finished the year with:
- 64 receptions
- 717 yards
- 3 touchdowns
- 11.2 yards per reception
In March, DeAndre Hopkins’ likely trade price surfaced, and with the Green Bay Packers’ extra draft picks in 2023, it is more than doable.
