Former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman David Bakhtiari has not signed with any team for quite some time. He is still a free agent and is waiting for the right opportunity to arise to get back into the NFL.
Bakhtiari had his 2023 cut short due to injury. Green Bay did not keep him on the roster this offseason. There were many teams rumored to sign him, but it never happened.
Former Green Bay Packers Offensive Lineman David Bakhtiari Received Shocking Text Message From Barstool Big Cat
Barstool Big Cat went onto his show on Monday and made a shocking announcement. He said on his show:
“I texted David Bakhtiari and I said, ‘Hello David, would you be interested in playing for a team that needs offensive line help? If so please reply YES. If you’d like to stop receiving these messages, please reply STOP’… I’m at least out there trying.”
After that, Bakhtiari confirmed on his Twitter page that this indeed happened. It was shocking that this occurred and it will be interesting to see what happens.
There have been issues with the Chicago Bears offensive line in the first two weeks of the NFL season. Chicago is 1-1, but they could easily be 0-2. Interestingly, he reached out to David Bakhtiari. Would he want to go play for the Chicago Bears even though it is the biggest rival to Green Bay? That would be a surprise to a lot of people if he went to the Bears at some point.
Maybe He Doesn’t Want To Play In 2024
There is a chance that he may not want to play in the NFL in 2024. Would Bakhtiari want to come back to the Packers if an injury to the offensive line occurs? It remains to be seen. Bakhtiari is probably the best free-agent offensive lineman on the free-agent market.
Bakhtiari’s best landing spot in 2024 may not be with the Chicago Bears or the Green Bay Packers. The best landing spot for him this season could be the Cleveland Browns because of the injuries they are already dealing with on the offensive line.
