Green Bay Packers: David Bakhtiari calls out Keisean Nixon for “sad” decision in loss to Bears

The Green Bay Packers will always be the most popular team in the state of Wisconsin among its professional sports franchises. That being said, at the moment, they are also the most frustrating. Even with the Milwaukee Bucks struggling, it is the Packers, fresh off of their postseason failure against the Chicago Bears, who are generating the most buzz.

And rightly so. The loss to Chicago on Saturday night was a shining example of everything that was wrong with the team, from top to bottom, from coaches to players.

Indeed, there will be several coaches and players who will not return in 2026 as Green Bay looks to improve its personnel and try to win a Super Bowl while their window is still open. One player that many fans, and apparently one former player, would like to see in a different uniform is Keisean Nixon.

Late in the Packers’ loss to the Bears, Chicago was driving and was in the red zone. And as their running back powered his way to the end zone, Nixon was seen on replay literally jumping out of the way instead of making a play on the ball:

TRENDING: Green Bay #Packers fans are calling for the team to RELEASE cornerback Keisean Nixon after he made a business decision at the goal line in a playoff game.

    😳😳😳

    PATHETIC.

And former All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari noticed too:

    Saw this too.

    Sad.

Nixon has been under a microscope ever since he declared himself to be “CB1” following the departure of Jaire Alexander. He even went so far as to say he no longer wanted to return kicks because of his new role as the premier starting cornerback.

Nixon had been a two-time All-Pro kick returner.

As Green Bay’s “CB1” in 2025, Nixon did have a career-high 17 passes defended. However, he also gave up a 64.4% completion percentage while allowing opposing quarterbacks to have a 105.1 passer rating when targeting him.

The fact of the matter is that his play this year was inconsistent, and his jumping out of the way of an opposing running back during a playoff game is concerning in regard to his commitment to the team.

The reality, too, is that Green Bay can save $5 million by cutting him this offseason.

While nothing is official, all signs are pointing to Nixon playing elsewhere in 2026.
