The Green Bay Packers are out of the NFL Playoffs after their epic meltdown last Saturday against the Chicago Bears in the NFC Wild Card round. Despite leading Chicago 21-6 in the second half, Green Bay was not able to bring home the win as they were outscored 25-6 in the fourth quarter.
Now, while the Packers are going about the business of figuring out their coaching staff for 2026, fans are hoping that the Los Angeles Rams will avenge their loss to Chicago in the Divisional Round. The fact that their former All-Pro wide receiver, Davante Adams, is on the Rams now only adds to the level of intrigue for Green Bay’s fans.
And while Adams is undoubtedly happy to be with Los Angeles now, recent comments he made to Stephen A. Smith seem to indicate that he wishes he had never left the Packers.
Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has advised his current teammates to stay put

Packers fans are well-familiar with the story of how Adams got to where he is now. After Green Bay placed the franchise tag on him following the 2021 season, he requested a trade and was dealt to the Las Vegas Raiders.
When things did not pan out for him in Las Vegas, he again got himself traded, this time to the the New York Jets, where he reunited with Aaron Rodgers.
However, the Jets went just 5-12 in 2024 and both he and Rodgers were not brought back. As a result, Adams signed with the Rams in free agency.
During a recent appearance on Smith’s show, Adams admitted that he regrets taking the route he did:
#Rams WR Davante Adams says he’s told his teammates — including Puka Nacua — that they should never leave LA “because it ain’t greener than this,” referencing his experience leaving the Packers.

“I don’t care what you seen me do, you know, forcing trades. Ending up playing with, you know, an old friend or whatever the case may be. I don’t care if it’s a coach that you always really wanted to play for. I always tell them the same thing over in this bulding.
“I say, ‘Hey man, it ain’t greener than this.’ So, I jumped around a few different times and tried a few different things, but that’s truly what my heart told me to do. I made some calculated decisions, you know, with my wife, my family, you know, even the clubs.
“We always left in a respectful position. I never went in barking in any buildings, going in to the head coach or the owner saying, ‘This is what I need. This is how it’s going to be.’ It was always a respectful transaction and we always went about it the right way.
“But it was something that I felt like I had to do. But after being here in this Rams facility, this organization, I let them know, man, it ain’t going to be greener than this.”
Adams’ message, he says, has been for the young players on the Los Angeles roster, including stud wide receiver Puka Nacua. Clearly, he is happy to be there and is not backing down from the path that he took to get there.
But it sure sounds like he learned some hard lessons from deciding to move on from Green Bay, lessons that, had he known what they were going to be, may have prevented him from leaving the Packers in the first place.
