Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. It does not matter who is throwing the football to him, he is getting the job done at the NFL level. Adams has played with the Las Vegas Raiders for the last two seasons and is entering his third season with the team.
Davante Adams is a possible trade candidate for the Raiders at the trade deadline this year. Adams played with Derek Carr, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Aidan O’Connell in Vegas. He now may be catching passes from Gardner Minshew this season.
It would have been interesting to see Adams catch passes from Jordan Love now on the Packers. Davante Adams was mainly catching passes from quarterback Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay.
NFL Analyst Thinks That Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Davante Adams Could Head To Canton
The last player who played for the Packers and the Raiders to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame was safety/cornerback Charles Woodson. Woodson was one of the best at his position for quite some time.
Pro Football Network’s Anthony DiBona listed a player on each NFL team who could wind up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the future. For the Las Vegas Raiders, he chose wide receiver Davante Adams. DiBona said:
“Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams has a strong case to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame someday. Adams is 12th in NFL history with 95 receiving touchdowns, he’s a three-time first-team All-Pro, and has made six trips to the Pro Bowl.
At 31 years old, Adams has more time to add to his potential Hall of Fame-worthy résumé.”
Davante Adams is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon in the NFL. He is going to wind up in the Top 10 of the NFL Top 100 once again this year. Adams a season ago with the Raiders caught 103 passes for 1,144 yards receiving and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 11.1 yards per catch.
For the last five-of-six seasons, he has reached over 1,000 yards receiving easily. The one year he did not reach it was in 2019 with the Green Bay Packers when he had 997 yards receiving in 12 games played. Had he played in 16 games that year, there is no doubt he would have had at least more than 1,200 yards receiving.
In 2020, Adams with the Packers had 18 receiving touchdowns that season and he was utterly dominant. He was one of the reasons why quarterback Aaron Rodgers won back-to-back MVPs. No matter who Davante Adams is catching passes from, he is always a nightmare for opposing defensive backs. Adams should be a first-ballot Hall of Fame player.
