Both the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets got a win during the start of the 2023 NFL Season. However, for the Jets, it was a bittersweet win as they lost Aaron Rodgers for the year with a torn Achilles. Rodgers undoubtedly left an impact on the city of Green Bay and the players there. Even players who spent one season with the four-time MVP felt the impact. After Rodgers went down, Christian Watson was feeling for his former quarterback.
Green Bay Packers’ Christian Watson Talks About How He Felt After Aaron Rodgers Went Down With His Injury

Christian Watson was texting with Samori Toure during Aaron Rodgers’ Jets debut on Monday. “It’s heartbreaking,” he said today. “He’s a great guy. I really love 12 even though I only got to be around him for a year. He’s a great player and I loved being able to learn from him.”
Second-year wideout Watson had a strong second half of 2022 for the Green Bay Packers. Watson returns in 2023 as the Packers’ top wide receiver knowing big numbers could be in store for him.
Watson had 31 catches (75.6% of his total) in the final eight games of the season, as well as all seven of his reception touchdowns and 523 out of 611 receiving yards (85.6%).
In addition to the seven receiving touchdowns, Watson scored two rushing touchdowns on the season. Among rookies in the NFL, he tied for first in TD catches and ranked fifth in receiving yards.
Even after missing the first week of the season, expectations are at an all-time high for Watson. Watson is hoping to play Sunday Vs. the Falcons and may be hoping his former MVP quarterback is watching.
