The Green Bay Packers fired their shot. It was announced on Saturday that Jordan Love had signed a massive 4-year extension with Green Bay. He is now the highest-paid player in NFL history ($220 million).
Slowly, but surely, the contract story took center stage in Green Bay in recent weeks.
On Friday the deal got done, and it sent shockwaves around the league. One of Love’s top targets, Christian Watson, found out about the deal in a unique fashion.
Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson Found Out About Jordan Love’s Deal In Hilarious Way
According to Ryan Wood of USA Today:
Christian Watson learned Jordan Love’s extension was done “like everybody else” when he opened his IG last night.
“I just wanted to see how much.” Watson’s thoughts on how much:
“I’m going to have to give him a little shoulder when we’re going out to eat, ‘Yeah, you got this?'”
The Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love recovered quickly from a rusty return to training camp. Love struggled to get going early in 11-on-11 practice following a four-day absence while negotiating a new contract. Love heated up when he hit a few passes and settled in, the highlight play being a deep ball to Christian Watson that started a two-minute touchdown drive.
A 47-yard gain opened up a two-minute situation for the offense after Watson got behind cornerback Eric Stokes on a go route and Love threw an accurate ball.
The expectations for this duo is sky high this season as long as health doesn’t play a role.
