The Green Bay Packers have one of the youngest offenses in the NFL. In fact, the average age of their core pieces (Jordan Love, Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Luke Musgrave, Tucker Kraft, Aaron Jones, and AJ Dillon) have an average age of just 23.8. The likelihood of the Packers trading one of their young offensive pieces is extremely low, however, that didn’t stop one team from trying to acquire one.
Indianapolis Colts Asked For Christian Watson From The Green Bay Packers In Exchange For Jonathan Taylor
Last season Christian Watson proved to be an explosive wide receiver who can take a game over. As Adam Schefter of ESPN reports, Watson was the cornerstone of early negotiations between the Colts and Packers for Jonathan Taylor. The Packers “quickly” shut that idea down:
“The Packers, however, never considered dealing Watson for Taylor or anyone else and quickly shut down any such talk, according to sources…
The Colts and Packers did discuss a deal for Taylor, but a trade did not get close. Green Bay is believed to have offered only draft-pick compensation, not enough to make Indianapolis consider dealing its All-Pro running back.”
Of all their young players, Watson feels like the most “un touchable” of the bunch. He is a player the Packers could build their game plans around. When fans saw the Colts tried to poach Watson, they reacted accordingly on social media:
