Christian Watson was one of the standout performers in the Green Bay Packers’ 30-13 victory against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. The 25-year-old wideout had the most yards among WRs, with 56 yards on three catches.
Near the end of the game, Christian Watson appeared to hurt his leg. However, he downplayed his injury scare during a postgame interview.
“He (Seahawks defender) just stepped on my shin when I was coming back to the ground,” Watson said via The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman. “I’m alright. Cleat to the shin, don’t feel too good.”
Watson’s 56 receiving yards don’t tell the full story of his impact last Sunday. The North Dakota State product gave the Seattle Seahawks secondary a rough time by drawing several pass-interference calls.
The Green Bay Packers also saw productive receiving nights from Josh Jacobs, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Tucker Kraft, and Dontayvion Wicks, combining for an additional 164 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Christian Watson is a valuable weapon for the Green Bay Packers
Christian Watson has been one of the top wideouts for the Green Bay Packers this season. He is second in the team in receiving yards with 29 catches for 620 yards and two touchdowns. His 21.7 yards per catch average is a career-high for him.
According to PFF, Watson has an overall grade of 71.2, putting him in the 45th percentile among 97 qualified NFL wide receivers. With a receiving grade of 74.1, the former No. 34 pick is also in the 35th percentile among wide receivers, so he still has room to improve.
