The Green Bay Packers are on the verge of something special. Even though many expected the Packers to be in a rebuilding year, they ended up as one of the four remaining NFC teams. They were also three points short of reaching the conference championship.
With Jordan Love leading this young Packers offense, they proved they can put up points against any defense. Today, General Manager Brian Gutekunst revealed that he fully expects one major contract extension coming in the near future.

Jordan Love Earned His Extension
Jordan Love played as well as any quarterback in the second half of the season. In the final eight games, Love’s dominance helped the Packers go 6-2 and clinch a playoff berth.
In that stretch, Love completed over 70% of his passes while throwing for 2,150 yards, 18 touchdowns, and one interception, resulting in a passer rating of 112.7.
Against the Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, and Minnesota Vikings, he recorded three touchdowns and zero interceptions. In the wild-card win over the Dallas Cowboys, he had another near-perfect passer rating.
Love would be near the top of any ranking of the best quarterbacks in the NFC in 2023:
- Jordan Love: 64.2 completion percentage, 4,159 yards, 32 TDs, 11 INTs, 96.1 rating, 4 rushing TDs
- Jalen Hurts: 65.4 completion percentage, 3,858 yards, 23 TDs, 15 INTs, 89.1 rating, 15 rushing TDs
- Baker Mayfield: 64.3 completion percentage, 4,044 yards, 28 TDs, 10 INTs, 94.6 rating, 1 rushing TD
- Geno Smith: 64.7 completion percentage, 3,624 yards, 20 TDs, 9 INTs, 92.1 rating, 1 rushing TD
The Packers believe they have found their quarterback of the future and are ready to commit to him long-term.
