The Green Bay Packers will have one major question on defense going into the 2023 NFL season. In the draft, the Packers addressed/added to their defensive line in a major way. However, one position that wasn’t addressed (as far as starting-caliber players go) was safety. They only took one safety in the draft and that was in the form of Anthony Johnson Jr. in the seventh round. That leaves the door open for the Packers to retain one of their better defensive players, Adrian Amos. Today, Brian Gutekunst addressed that exact situation.
Brian Gutekunst Addresses Bringing Safety Adrian Amos Back In 2023

According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
Brian Gutekunst says he won’t close the door on Adrian Amos.
“We’ve been in communication with him along the way.”
Earlier this off-season Adrian Amos visited the Baltimore Ravens on an official, however, he left without signing a contract. Amos is coming off a four-year, $36 million contract he signed with the Packers in 2019. He played 66 games for Green Bay.
He registered one interception in 2022 but stole three in each of the previous two seasons. While is was overall considered a down year for Amos, he still recorded a career highs with 102 tackles last season and six for loss. Amos spent 2015 to 2018 with the Bears after being drafted in the fifth round (142nd overall) in the 2015 NFL Draft and totaled 274 tackles, three forced fumbles, and three interceptions in 60 games in Chicago. With the glaring need at safety, the Green Bay Packers may be enticed to bring him back.
