Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst met with the media on Monday to talk about the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They will have the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
There are many routes that the Gutekunst could go in. Wide receiver, defensive lineman, and cornerbacks will be some needs for Green Bay in the 2025 NFL Draft. When Gutekunst spoke to the media on Monday, he made a bold statement and said,
“If we had to go play next week, I feel really good about our roster and our ability to win.”
This is an interesting statement after the Packers finished 11-6 in 2024 and lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the first-round of the NFL playoffs. Green Bay did not make many moves to improve this offseason. The Chicago Bears, the Detroit Lions, and the Minnesota Vikings all got better within the NFC North.

Packers’ general manager Brian Gutekunst to no surprise is catching some heat from the fanbase with his latest comments ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. During the 2024 NFL Draft, he drafted offensive lineman Jordan Morgan from the Arizona Wildcats in the first-round. Green Bay fans are hoping for better results in 2025 with the first round, but this is what some Packers fans said after his latest comments:
The only way that statement makes sense is if LVN, Wicks, Bullard, Wyatt and Musgrave all contribute at levels far above where they’ve been. What’s the confidence level on that?

Unfortunately, some of us have the capability to be objective about the quality of his draft selections and acquisitions. To be honest, if Rodgers and LaFleur hadn’t made magic for 3 years with the remnants of Ted’s roster his entire tenure would be completely forgettable.

It is not a surprise that Green Bay fans have been critical of his drafting over the years. There have been some flaws with the Packers roster because of his questionable drafting. If Gutekunst has another year of questionable draft choices, there is a chance that Green Bay could miss the playoffs in 2025 because of it.
They have to draft players that will for sure be starters for them on day one. The Packers can no doubt find starters and contributors in his draft class. Finding a pass rusher or finding a number one wide receiver for quarterback Jordan Love should not be hard in this draft class also.
