The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles will play their NFC Wild Card game on Sunday afternoon at 3:30. Because the Eagles are the second seed in the conference, the game will take place in Philadelphia.
Elsewhere in the NFC, though, one of the Wild Card games is being moved to a neutral site. The Los Angeles Rams will play host to the Minnesota Vikings at State Farm Field, the home of the Arizona Cardinals. This change of venue is due to the disastrous LA wildfires that have destroyed homes and neighborhoods, and has claimed the lives of many people.

Unfortunately, the deadly disaster has been used by many people as a political stunt to further their agendas. This is true for politicians and supporters of both parties.
Former Green Bay Packers Quarterback Brett Favre Makes a Post Addressing the LA Wildfires
Former Packers quarterback Brett Favre, a three-time NFL MVP and Pro Football Hall of Famer, made plenty of headlines over the past year for his support of President-elect Donald Trump. Of course, this is nothing new as he has been a vocal supporter of conservative Republican candidates for decades.
The Governor of California is Democrat Gavin Newsome, an outspoken critic of Trump and the Republican party. With the wildfires raging in Southern California, many people are criticizing him for his lack of preparation in the event a disaster such as this happened.
One thing that is especially concerning is the fact that fire hydrants in certain Los Angeles neighborhoods have run dry.
Favre expressed his own thoughts regarding that particular development on social media, posting:
How the heck does California run out of water with the Pacific Ocean right there?
My heart goes out to all those affected by the fires. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/U5FhRQmhXX

One can appreciate Favre’s concern for the victims of the wildfires, but his thought on using salt water to put out fires is not well thought out.
A middle school science education is enough for one to have learned that using salt water to put out fires can have its own detrimental effects. For example, the salt in the water will damage fire fighting equipment to the point that it will become unusable.
Additionally, salt lowers the efficiency of the water to put out fires, not to mention the fact that, once the water evaporates, the salt left will make the ground infertile and uninhabitable.
Green Bay Packers Legend Brett Favre Gets Dragged for His Idea to Use Water from the Pacific Ocean to Put Out the LA Wildfires
As one might have imagined, Packers fans and many others were quick to point out the error in Favre’s thinking on social media:

Let’s run saltwater through all the LAFD equipment and dump it on the ground and see what happens 🙄

While using sea water is certainly not the answer, hopefully the city of Los Angeles and the state of California figure something out soon.
And hopefully there is better preparation by city and state leaders so that it does not happen again.
