The Green Bay Packers are one of the most storied franchises in the NFL. Many players have graced the record books in one way or another. There are some records however that will likely never be broken. As the league changes, some records become more untouchable. Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre is the holder of a record that will likely never be broken.
Former Green Bay Packers Quarterback Brett Favre Interceptions
It isn’t a good record that Favre holds. As good as he was, he was also incredibly careless with the ball. He threw 336 interceptions in his career. To give you context, the second-place player is George Branda who only has 277 career interceptions. Favre is 59 interceptions clear of him. The highest active player on this list is Matthew Stafford who only has 169 career interceptions and he is entering the twilight of his career. It is highly unlikely in today’s NFL that anyone breaks this record.

Difference In Offenses
The NFL offense is different now. The quick throw game and run-pass option play cut down on risky throws that could be picked off. Favre was also a unique case of a player who could make those mistakes and then immediately atone for them on the next drive. Usually, a player that throws high amounts of interceptions is quickly benched and replaced. It would have to be an absolute unicorn of a player to break this record.
This is not necessarily the history that Brett Favre was hoping to make. However, with the impending legal trouble, Favre may want to be remembered for all of his interceptions.
