Green Bay Packers: Brandon McManus’s Perfection at Training Camp Earns Matt LaFleur’s Unbothered Reaction

The Green Bay Packers’ kicker situation to start the 2024 NFL season was not exactly a great chapter in the franchise’s history. But it changed for the better once Brandon McManus signed with the Packers and took over as the team’s top kicker.

In 11 games in 2024 with Green Bay, McManus made all but one of his 21 field-goal attempts, with the only miss coming behind the 40-yard line. He was a perfect 9-for-9 from the 30-39 yard range and also drilled all 30 of his extra-point takes.

LaFleur relishes comfort of having a dependable Green Bay Packers kicker

On Monday, McManus impressed anew and further gave the Packers inner calm about the kicker position. According to Mike Spofford of Green Bay’s official website, the 34-year-old McManus has gone 23-for-23 since training camp started, including one that he made from 56 yards out.

“I don’t even think about it,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said of the team’s kicking situation. “It’s great.”

Through his success on the field, McManus has repeatedly proven to the team that the Packers were right to bring him over and hand the kicking duties to him, beginning in 2024.

Last March, Green Bay rewarded McManus with a three-year extension contract worth $15.3 million.
