During the course of OTAs, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Bo Melton has performed well. He has performed well and has received praise from head coach Matt LaFleur. Green Bay has one of the deepest wide receiver cores in the NFL.
Bo Melton expects to make the 53-man roster this year. He is with the second unit along with Dontayvion Wicks and Malik Heath. Melton had 218 yards receiving and one touchdown last season. This goes to show that quarterback Jordan Love always trusts his wide receivers.
A season ago, Melton was signed to the roster before the Week 17 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings because there were various injuries at the wide receiver position. Bo Melton in the week 17 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings had over 100 yards receiving. It was only one of two instances during the regular season where a Packers wide receiver went over 100 yards in a single game.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Bo Melton Is Looking Forward To the Week 6 Matchup Against the Arizona Cardinals Because His Brother Max Melton Plays For Them
The Packers will host the Arizona Cardinals on October 13 this season. Max Melton was the 43rd overall pick (second-round selection) in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Rutgers. Melton is listed with the second unit at cornerback along with Elijah Jones.
The starting cornerbacks this season for Arizona will be Sean Murphy-Bunting and Garrett Williams. Bo Melton spoke to Zach Kruse of packerswire.usatoday.com about facing his brother during Week 6 of the NFL season. Melton said on Tuesday:
“I knew we played (the Cardinals) this year, but I was looking forward to when we were going to play them. When I saw Week 6, I’m like, alright, it’s going to be good. No more backyard anymore. Big stage. He’s going to be ready for it, and I’m definitely going to be ready for sure.”
Melton played with his brother at Rutgers. It will be different for him this time when they are facing each other. Bo Melton also added:
“It’s going to be different seeing him on the other side but it’s going to be fun for sure. He’s competitive…I used to get him all the time, he got me a couple times when he got a little older. Definitely ready for Week 6, for sure.”
We will see if Bo Melton faces Max Melton on the field during the Week 6 matchup. This season, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs will be the starting wide receivers for the Packers.
