The Green Bay Packers have done extensive scouting on players leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft. There are many ways that Green Bay can go during the NFL Draft on Thursday night.

There will be a lot of talented players available with the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. There is a chance that some players may be available on the board for the Packers that they didn’t expect to be available. Some of the positions to keep an eye on during the draft will be cornerback, wide receiver, and defensive line. It would be a surprise to see Green Bay to take another position with its first-round pick.
Green Bay Packers Select Wide Receiver Tetairoa McMillan In Latest Yahoo Sports 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Yahoo sports writers Nate Tice and Charles McDonald created another NFL Mock Draft for the 2025 NFL Draft. They made a major surprise with the Packers selection. With the 23rd overall pick, they have Green Bay selecting wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan from the Arizona Wildcats. They said about this selection for the Packers,
“The Packers don’t historically draft wide receivers in the first round (Javon Walker was their last first-round WR all the way back in 2002), but I think McMillan falling into their laps would change the Packers’ modus operandi. McMillan has the size the Packers covet at the position and would complement their young receiver group nicely.
His upside as a true No. 1 would allow the other Packers players to slot into more fitting roles, plus give them someone who can actually beat man coverage on their roster (something that hindered them greatly in 2024). A McMillan-Jayden Reed-Tucker Kraft-Romeo Doubs pass-catching group (with Luke Musgrave, Dontayvion Wicks and an injured Christian Watson on the roster) has great synergy and would be exciting to watch with Jordan Love. I’m trying to manifest this one.”
It would be a major surprise to see McMillan still available at 23 overall to Green Bay. It would be hard for Gutekunst to pass up on him, considering the fact that the Packers did extensive homework on him. The most likely landing spot the Wildcats wide receiver is most likely eighth overall to the Carolina Panthers in the 2025 NFL Draft.
In the event that McMillan does slip to 23 to Green Bay, he would be the number one wide receiver for quarterback Jordan Love. He is 6’5″ and weighs 212 lbs. McMillan with Arizona during the 2024 college football season caught 84 passes for 1,319 yards receiving and eight touchdowns, along with averaging 15.7 yards per reception. His longest reception during the college football season was 78 yards.
There would be a lot of happy Green Bay fans if McMillan slipped to them in the first-round. Green Bay has not drafted a wide receiver in the first-round since 2002. The Packers can’t afford to pass up on him if available also.
