The Green Bay Packers will have three preseason games before the start of the 2024 NFL regular season. Things that NFL teams like to do during the preseason now is to have joint practices with other NFL teams during the preseason before the NFL regular season begins.
There is always a risk of having fights break out amongst other chaos when two teams meet up during training camp. It is just trying to get the mind into the game flow before the start of the season.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Announces On Tuesday During OTAs Doing Joint Practices With the Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur met with the media on Tuesday about having joint practices during the 2024 NFL preseason. Green Bay will go to Denver, Colorado for a joint practice with the Denver Broncos. They will both play each other in the preseason on August 18.
The Broncos have not made it to the playoffs since winning Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers. Denver will be entering its second season under head coach Sean Payton. Russell Wilson was released in the offseason and they drafted quarterback Bo Nix from Oregon in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Denver Broncos hope to be a playoff team again this season. The Green Bay Packers will learn a lot about themselves during these joint practices. They will only do one day of joint practice instead of two days.
The Green Bay Packers will also host the Baltimore Ravens for a joint practice. The preseason game between Baltimore and Green Bay will be on August 24. Head coach Matt LaFleur said about having joint practices:
“I love the exposure to new systems, new challenges. It allows you to play your starters a little bit longer in a more controlled setting…you get a lot of great work.”
The Ravens a season ago were the number-one seed in the AFC. They lost in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson also won the MVP award for the second time in his NFL career a season ago.
Head coach John Harbaugh is one of the best coaches in the NFL. The joint practice between the Green Bay Packers and the Baltimore Ravens will be a good measuring stick for Green Bay. It will show how close they might be to being a serious contender in the NFL.
