The Green Bay Packers are in need of veteran wide receiver help. Matt LaFleur admitted it during the league meetings in Arizona but so far the roster is still just young players. While Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Samori Toure, and whoever they could add in the draft are great pieces, a veteran will help the room drastically. A CBS Sports analyst suggested that a former Chicago Bears wide receiver, Allen Robinson, could be a target for the Packers.
Green Bay Packers Interested In Allen Robinson?
The Los Angeles Rams gave Robinson a big contract hoping that he would be the player he was in Chicago. This did not happen as Robinson struggled last season. However, this does not mean that he does not provide value. For the Packers, he would be a great rotational piece and a possible red-zone target. Watson and Doubs could take on the offensive load and Robinson could take a backseat.

What’s Been The Hold Up For A Robinson Trade?
The Rams have been shopping Robinson for a while now and the hang-up is his contract. Similar to the Rodgers situation, no team wants to trade for the contract. However, it has been suggested that the Rams could eat some more of the contract if the Packers were looking for a one-year rental. The salary cap situation for Green Bay is already precarious so they would need the Rams to eat some of the salary.
Allen Robinson isn’t the first name that has come up as a veteran option. The question the Green Bay Packers have to ask is whether they need to make a trade or whether they can be patient. DeAndre Hopkins might be released and hit the open market and the same thing could happen to Robinson. The Packers seem content to wait and see how the market falls.
