The Green Bay Packers are looking for a new defensive coordinator now that Jeff Hafley has left the organization to take the head coaching job with the Miami Dolphins. With head coach Matt LaFleur, fresh off of agreeing to a contract extension, the team is now looking for the fourth defensive coordinator of his tenure.
Prior to Hafley, LaFleur had Mike Pettine for two years and Joe Barry for three serve as his defensive coordinator.
Undoubtedly, the pressure is on LaFleur and the Packers to get this next hire right, especially with All-Pro’s like Micah Parsons and Xavier McKinney on the roster. Their presence, along with those of Edgerrin Cooper and Devonte Wyatt, are sure to make the position an coveted one.
And Green Bay has now decided to interview a member of the Packers Hall of Fame for the open job.
The Green Bay Packers have interviewed Al Harris for the defensive coordinator position

One of the names that many fans wanted to see interviewed for the position is current Chicago Bears defensive backs coach Al Harris, who was a two-time Pro Bowl player during his career with the Packers.
Well, on Wednesday evening, their wish came true:

When his playing career ended in 2011, Harris immediately turned to coaching, joining the Kansas City Chiefs as an intern in 2012. He remained with the Chiefs through the 2018 season, rising as high as being their secondary coach.
After spending 2019 at FAU, he returned to the NFL in 2020 on the coaching staff of his former head coach, Mike McCarthy, serving as the defensive backs coach for the Dallas Cowboys. He remained with Dallas through 2024, and spent that final season also as the assistant head coach.
Following McCarthy’s departure from Dallas, Harris was hired by the Bears to be their defensive backs coach.
The official list of interviews conducted or requested by Green Bay now stands at four, with the following three candidates having been officially linked to the team previously:
