The Green Bay Packers are preparing to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round of the NFL Playoffs. Unfortunately for Green Bay, they are dealing with several significant injuries that have many doubting their ability to upset the second seeded Eagles like they did the Dallas Cowboys last year.
Two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander was ruled out for the rest of the year prior to the Packers’ Week 18 matchup with the Chicago Bears. The torn PCL that he suffered in Week Eight just would not heal, so he and the team were forced to accept the reality that his season is officially over.
Additionally, wide receiver Christian Watson suffered a torn ACL against the Bears, not only ending his year but also putting his availability for the start of next season in doubt.
The Green Bay Packers Are Banged Up at the Safety Position
In addition to the season-ending injuries to Alexander and Watson, the Packers’ safety position is also dealing with some concerns. Rookie Evan Williams, who emerged as the starter opposite Xavier McKinney at the position, has missed the last several weeks with a quad injury that he suffered in practice.
Additionally, Zayne Anderson, who was starting in place of Williams, suffered a concussion in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings. He has been in concussion protocol ever since, and there is no guarantee that he will be available to play against the Eagles on Sunday.
These injuries are significant because it forces Green Bay to move Javon Bullard from the slot/nickel cornerback position to safety. He is more effective as a nickel corner and struggled more when playing safety. As the situation now is “win or go home,” the Packers are looking at practice squads and available free agents for someone who might be able to help them.
And one of their former players is ready to answer the call if it comes.
Former Green Bay Packers Safety Adrian Amos Appears Willing to Come Help
Former Packers safety Adrian Amos has bounced around the NFL a bit since leaving the team following the 2022 season. He last appeared in a game with the San Francisco 49ers this year, but was released back in November.
Based on what he posted on his Instagram story today, he may be preparing himself for a phone call from the Packers front office, who have stated publicly they are looking for some players familiar with them that may be able to help:

A potential #Packers reunion does make sense… Green Bay currently has open roster spots and Evan Williams/Zayne Anderson are both dealing with injuries. pic.twitter.com/BKEztgUOnP

As one can see, Amos posted a picture of himself working out wearing a Packers hat with a picture of himself wearing the Green and Gold in the background.
Amos played four seasons in Green Bay, playing in all 66 of a possible 66 games. He had seven interceptions and 362 tackles during that time.
