The Green Bay Packers are moving fast to find a replacement for former defensive line coach Jason Rebrovich, who was sacked by the team recently.
Rebrovich joined Green Bay in 2022 as part of former defensive coordinator Joe Barry’s staff as an outside linebackers coach before getting the title “pass rush specialist” in 2023. The 46-year-old coach was in charge of the entire defensive line in 2024, with Jeff Hatley as his defensive coordinator.
The Green Bay Packers let go of Rebrovich because their defensive line underperformed under his watch, at least from a pass-rushing standpoint.
The defensive line job is the second opening on the team’s coaching staff following the retirement of quarterbacks coach Tom Clements.
Green Bay Packers list New York Jets defensive line coach as potential replacement for Jason Rebrovich
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Green Bay Packers are set to interview Aaron Whitecotton for the vacant defensive line job.
Whitecotton has spent the last four seasons as the defensive line coach for the New York Jets. He joined the team in 2021 as part of Robert Saleh’s staff. Saleh, an offensive consultant for the Green Bay Packers, probably recommended Whitecotton to Matt LaFleur and co.
If Whitecotton gets the job, he will be tasked with drawing out more production from Kenny Clark, Rashan Gary, Devonte Wyatt, Kingsley Enagbare, and Lukas Van Ness, among others.
