There’s been a whole lot of talk surrounding former Green Bay Packers superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers and four-time All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs. This is after Rodgers, who now plies his trade with the New York Jets, decided to throw a playful jab in Kelce’s direction by dubbing the Kansas City Chiefs star “Mr. Phizer.”
Green Bay Packers Icon Aaron Rodgers Wants to Debate Travis Kelce
For context, Rodgers’ “Mr. Phizer” crack stems from the fact that Kelce recently featured in a Pfizer commercial advocating the use administration of the COVID-19 vaccine. Rodgers has long been a staunch critic of the vaccine, and he’s now decided to resurrect this whole issue by calling Kelce out.
The Chiefs star responded by saying that he never imagined he would be in a “vax war” against the legendary quarterback, to which Rodgers has decided to clap back:
“Listen, Mr. Pfizer said he didn’t think he’d be in a vax war with me,” Rodgers said Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show (h/t Christopher Kuhagen of CBS).
“This ain’t a war, homie, this is just conversation. But if you want to have some sort of duel, debate have me on the podcast, come on the show, let’s have a conversation.”
That would be a very interesting conversation, to say the least.
Aaron Rodgers Picks Debate Partner Vs. Travis Kelce
Rodgers was serious about the challenge, too. In fact, the former Super Bowl champion quarterback has already picked his debate partner. He wants Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. to be in his corner if and when Kelce accepts his invitation.
Also known as RFK, Kennedy has also spoken against the vaccine multiple times in the past, and much like Rodgers, has also garnered a bit of a controversial reputation because of the same. According to A-Rod, RFK is “my man.”
In the spirit of fairness, Rodgers won’t let Kelce enter the debate on his own. The Jets QB wants Kelce to team up with Dr. Anthony Fauci, who himself previously served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, as well as the presidential medical adviser during the peak of the pandemic.
I would pay good money to see this happen.
