The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers may actually be heading toward a trade. While many thought it was a possibility this off-season, it still seemed unlikely that any team would trade for Rodgers given the asking price and massive cap hit. However, the trade rumors that have been swirling all off-season have turned up a notch on Monday night. The Green Bay Packers officially gave Aaron Rodgers permission to speak to one AFC team regarding a trade.
Aaron Rodgers Given Permission To Speak To New York Jets Regarding Trade

The New York Jets, who have consistently been connected to Rodgers as the number one landing spot for the four-time MVP, had conversations with him on Monday. According to ESPN’s Trey Wingo, nothing is imminent — however, Rodgers is open to the idea of potentially leading their team.

Since Aaron Rodgers is still under contract with the Packers, he needed to be granted permission to avoid tampering. The fact that the Packers allowed Rodgers to speak to Jets indicates the Packers are open to the four-time MVP feeling out where he might want to play next.
